In 2016-2017, JLOSH restocked nurses’ pantries in Orange elementary schools, prepared basic needs bags for pediatric patients at St. Barnabas, assembled 300 Thanksgiving dinner bags to distribute to families in need in Orange, had a holiday “pajama party” for children at a therapeutic nursery school in East Orange, and volunteered at the Community Food Bank and local food pantries throughout the year. We also had another successful “Kids for Kids” event where over 150 local children learned the value of volunteerism by participating in various service projects aimed at assisting other local children in need.
JLOSH also trained its members and community partners on how to be better civic leaders by holding various trainings on the topics of diversity, inclusion, and servant leadership from such esteemed speakers as the Community Coalition on Race and Vicki Clark.
None of these opportunities for growth, development and the opportunity to bring about lasting changing in our community would be possible without your help. JLOSH relies in large part on the generous donations of individual sponsors to continue its good work. If you are interested in supporting JLOSH, please consider donating by clicking here.
