Provisional training is the first step in the Junior League program of continued education. The Provisional Course, which takes place from November through May, is designed to acquaint the new member with the Junior League, its international association, the local community, and the League’s role within its service area. The goal of this course is to train each new member to be a knowledgeable, responsible, and enthusiastic member and volunteer.
Time Commitment
- Attendance and participation in all aspects of the Provisional Member Training Course (November - May)
- Participation in a Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills (JLOSH) hands-on volunteer activity coordinated by the Provisional Members (to be completed in the Spring)
- Attendance at JLOSH monthly General Membership Meetings
- Provisional Member dues of $140.00, to be paid by start of Provisional Member Training Course
- Ongoing Annual Dues paid each March 1st for the following League year
- Support of Junior League fundraisers as approved by the JLOSH membership
- To become a member, you must be at least 21 years of age
- It is suggested that you attend an Information Session where members of the Membership Committee will explain all aspects of membership and review the Provisional Member Course
