Calling all South Orange and Maplewood 2nd graders!

Do you have a great idea for a volunteer project?

Here’s your chance to win $100 to help others.

In The Littlest Volunteers, a book created by The Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills, Annie the Ant and her friends discover what it means to be a volunteer. They learn that they are never too young to volunteer, and they have fun helping others in their community.

Now you can be like Annie…

Tell us how you would help others if you had $100 for your volunteer project, and you could win the money to get started!

Ideas might include a volunteer project or a donation to charity, a fundraising sale or drive for food, toys, books etc. Maybe you just want to make a neighbor happy, or perhaps you could help many. Get thinking and be creative! You can work on your own or with a friend.

Who can enter?  Any 2nd grader in the South Orange/Maplewood School District.

How to enter:

· Describe who/what you would like to help in your community and how you would use $100 to do that.

· You can include adults in your project, but you should design and plan it yourself.

· Write out your ideas by hand in no more than 10 sentences.

· Be sure to include your name, contact information and school.

Send your entry in the mail by Monday, March 1, 2010 to:
