What is the JLOSH Organizational Structure?
The Junior League of the
JLOSH has five Councils with the following names and functions:
Community Council. The Community Council coordinates the activities of community research, new service project development, community assistance (i.e., grants and donations), community service projects and SPAC. The Community Vice President chairs this Council. The Community Council is comprised of the following Committees:

§ State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC)
§ The Littlest Volunteers

Communications Council. The Communications Council oversees all public relations and marketing activities, League newsletters and the League website under the direction of the Communications Council Chair. The Communications Council is comprised of the following Committees:

Membership Council. The Membership Council oversees the development of individual members from admission through Provisional training, volunteer placement, and selection for leadership positions. It also coordinates membership retention activities, social activities and League training and meetings. The Membership Vice President chairs this Council. The Membership Council is comprised of the following Committees:
§ Nominating/Placement
§ Provisional
§ Training, Meetings, & Social
Sustainers Council. The Sustainers Council oversees all social and financial activities of the JLOSH Sustainers group. One or more Sustainers chair this Council and serve as the liaison(s) to the Active Members and the Board of Directors.
Fundraising Council. The Fundraising Council coordinates the activities of all League fund development and fundraisers, under the direction of the Fundraising Council Chair and the Assistant Fundraising Council Chair. The Fundraising Council is currently comprised of the following Committees:

Council Chairs are responsible for supervising the activities of the Committee Chairs on the council. The Council Chairs serve on the Board of Directors and represent the interests of the council to the Board. The President has primary supervisory responsibility over the Council Chairs, who report back to her informally and at Board meetings.
The Board of Directors has responsibility for governance of the League and concentrates on goals of establishing policy, planning for the future, and overseeing the overall operation of the League. The Board of Directors is comprised of the Executive Committee, Council Chairs, the SPAC Chair, the Nominating Chair, and the Step-up Positions. The Step-up Positions, which are non-voting, include: Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Community Vice President, Assistant Membership Vice President and Assistant Fundraising Council Chair. In some cases, an officer of the League (i.e. Executive Committee member) may also serve as a Council Chair.
The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors consists of the officers of the League: the President, President Elect, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Community Vice President and Membership Vice President. They have the full authority to conduct the business of the League between meetings of the Board of Directors. When needed, they may make decisions that are later presented to the Board of Directors for ratification.
